Meet Our Library Team
Meet Jonathan (Jon) Adams! The new Information Specialist II at the Chincoteague Island Library. A retired educator from Georgia, Jon taught middle and high school for 28 years and directed bands that performed at major venues and events across the Southeast. He earned degrees from Eastern Kentucky University, the University of Cincinnati, and Liberty University, bringing decades of educational experience to his new role.

Meet Nancy Conklin! Nancy has been a dedicated part of the Chincoteague Island Library from the very beginning. A lifelong lover of reading, she passed that love on to her children through the Bookmobile and always dreamed of having a little library on the island. Today, that dream is a reality, and Nancy continues to support our community as both a valued Board member and dedicated volunteer.

Yes! Both local residents and visitors are welcome to apply for a library card at the Chincoteague Island Library.
Local residents must present a valid photo ID along with proof of address to receive a permanent resident library card.
Visitors may apply for a non-resident library card by presenting a valid photo ID. Non-resident cards provide access to many of our resources during your stay. Our staff will be happy to explain the details and help you get started.
We offer a wide variety of programs and events, including author talks, book clubs, children’s storytime, and much more. Be sure to visit our website or follow our social media pages to stay up to date on all upcoming events and activities.
The library offers free Wi-Fi to all patrons. Simply connect to our network during your visit, or take advantage of one of our complimentary public computers for easy access to the internet.
